With the amount of wildlife in Hokkaido, including a handful of threatened or endangered species, there is a variety of wildlife conservation activity taking place. When traveling to any destination, it is always a great idea to find a way to contribute to the local community, especially when the main feature of an area is the surrounding nature. Here is one group that is doing some great things to protect birds in Hokkaido.

The Institute for Raptor Biomedicine Japan, located in Kushiro, does a variety of activities to care for the wild birds of Hokkaido while creating as little influence to the environment as possible. Here is a list of some of their activity
